Why CCA?

Chrysostom Classical Academy serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Our mission is to glorify God by providing an excellent, classical, ecumenical, Christian education to shape students who are rich in wisdom, virtue, and joy. Our Academy is the right place for families who want to partner with us to live out that mission each day as we focus on two main endeavors—education and relationships.

Our teachers strive to provide the best possible education for our students. As a classical school, we regard students not as buckets to be filled with information, but as human beings who are made to find delight and wonder all around them. Teachers, in turn, delight to cultivate students’ imaginations. They are mentors who model how to learn by learning alongside their students using the three teaching methods of the ancients. Teachers impart information; they model skills and provide ample opportunities for students to practice those skills; they engage students in meaningful conversations. We aim to provide our students with tools for learning that last a lifetime. As a Christian school, we guide our students to think in a godly manner about their studies—For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:6). Our hope is to mentor students to become critical thinkers and winsome speakers for the purpose of using their unique gifts and talents to glorify God. 

In our community of students, teachers, and parents, we seek to glorify God in the way we relate to each other by showing respect for the ideas of others, treating each other with kindness, and demonstrating gratitude for all God’s gifts. We seek to cultivate virtue among our community and rely on the fruit of the Spirit to enable us to love our neighbors. We acknowledge God’s sovereignty and trust his promise in Romans 8:28—…that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. We hope our students will become men and women who live their lives well with wisdom and virtue, love God and people, and spend their time fruitfully.
